Popular Afrobeats singer Tiwa Savage has opened up about what motherhood means to her.
She recently described having a child as the best feeling in the world.
Speaking via a clip she shared on Instagram, Tiwa revealed that while being a mother is tough, it is also a very rewarding experience.
According to her, despite disciplining her son for misbehaving days ago, he still found his way back to sit close to her on the couch, seeking comfort.
Tiwa stated that Jamil deciding to come back to the same woman who punished him, rather than get upset, emphasised the unbreakable bond between mothers and their children.
“Last night, I went off on him. And this is why he melts my heart so much…I woke up and saw that he had quietly come to sleep next to me.
I had slept on the couch, and he still came to lie beside me, my baby. I was shouting earlier… ahhh. Yet he still came close, seeking comfort. Being a mother is tough. But it’s also the best feeling in the world,” she said.
The singer further noted that even though it breaks her heart to be strict as a mum, kids need to be checked every now and then for them to be brought up properly.
Tiwa concluded by saying that correcting a child is one of the hardest things about being a parent, but it must be done.
“Last night, I was reminded of one of the hardest things about being a mom: you still have to discipline your child and be strict, even when it breaks your heart. I’m a very, very strict mother. Everyone knows this,” she added.
