Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has posted an emotional goodbye message to mourn the death of his former teammate Diogo Jota.
He recently had his say via his social media page, and fans have been reacting.
According to the Egyptian, he is currently lost for words after the death of his teammate and friend, and it’ll be very difficult for him to accept that Jota is truly gone.
Salah stated that until yesterday, he never thought an incident would frighten him to the point of dreading a return to Liverpool after the break.
He revealed that even if it is normal for teammates to come and go at football clubs, parting ways due to the death of a fellow player is very difficult to cope with.
“I am truly lost for words. Until yesterday, I never thought there would be something that would frighten me of going back to Liverpool after the break.
Team mates come and go but not like this. It’s going to be extremely difficult to accept that Diogo won’t be there when we go back. My thoughts are with his wife, his children, and of course his parents who suddenly lost their children,” he wrote.
He further noted that Jota’s loved ones need all the support they can get during this extremely sad time, stressing that Diogo and his brother will forever be in his heart.
“Those close to Diogo and his brother Andre need all the support they can get. They will never be forgotten,” he added.
