Outrage As Itsekiri Group Condemn Desecration Of Olu Of Warri Throne

Anger and outrage have continued to trail the desecration of the revered Olu of Warri Kingdom following the activities of one Esimaje Awani for his alleged role as the Children of Drivers and Fishermen Association (CODAFA) Worldwide, condemning the dragging of the monarch’s name in the mud in faraway Switzerland.

This statement was contained in a press release and signed by the national president, Mr Romeo Diden, and the secretary, Mr. Blessing Omatseye. It was also made available to the press in Warri, Delta State.

According to the release, Esimaje Awani has committed a sacrilege which is wicked and malicious by blackmailing the revered monarch of Warri Kingdom in an alleged sponsored video on social media which has gone viral.

He said, the lies were spread with malicious intent as false claims are designed to manipulate public opinion, damage reputation, and deceive innocent individuals.

According to Diden, the association reject and condemn all forms of misinformation and lies while demanding for truth and accuracy.

“We, the Children of Drivers and Fishermen Association, unequivocally reject and condemn the vicious lies, misinformation, and propaganda being spread about our king. These baseless claims are nothing but a deliberate attempt to tarnish his sterling qualities, reputation, destroy his character, and cause harm to him.”

The President said, such atrocities from a supposed son of the kingdom will not be tolerated as it is not going to be business as usual whereby every Tom Dick and Harry can throw stones on the pristine throne and get away with. “

He said, “We have been tolerant enough because we are peaceful people by nature, but a lot of people are taking their luck too far.”

“We stand firmly in support of our respected monarch, Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri and affirm his integrity, honesty, and commitment to his values , principles and the progress of Iwere land and Nigeria in general.
