Real Madrid Should Be Sanctioned For Criticizing Officials Via Their TV Channel – Javier Tebas

La Liga president Javier Tebas has come out to remind Barcelona that the club cannot register transfer target Nico Williams.

He recently insisted that the Barcelona is still not in a financial position to register the Athletic Club forward if purchased.

Speaking at the Spanish football federation’s (RFEF) event on Tuesday, ahead of the unveiling of the domestic schedule for the 2025-26 season, Tebas shared that the registration period for players started today, and as at the 2nd of July, 2025, it is impossible for Barca to register any new player.

“As of today, Barca would not be able to register Nico Williams. The registration period for players started today, and right now I wouldn’t be able to do it,” he said.

He also called for Real Madrid to be sanctioned after the club’s blunt criticism of referees on their channel Real Madrid TV.

According to him, even if he knows that it is not up to him to issue such a sanction, he believes Real Madrid deserves to be penalized for the way their official channel has been used in recent times.

“They should be sanctioned for the Real Madrid TV videos. Now it will be up to the Supreme Court to make the decision, but we’ll see. The Supreme Court is there, and we all know what’s going on,” he added.

Barcelona and Madrid have been at a war of words with the league president over the past 12 months. Javier Tebas even went as far as labelling Madrid a crying club over their ceaseless attacks towards the officiating.

The La Liga president also blasted club president Florentino Perez for instigating the attacks for no tangible reason.
