Seyi Makinde to Announce Preferred Successor in January 2026

During the 11th Omituntun Ramadan lecture held in Ibadan, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde playfully addressed the audience, stating that his billboard in the Isale Alfa area should not be removed just yet.

He hinted that by January 2026, the billboard would eventually feature the image of his chosen successor.

While attending the lecture titled ‘Benefits of Being a Good Neighbour: An Islamic Perspective,’ delivered by Yunus Teliat, the grand chief Imam of Ogbomoland, Makinde expressed gratitude to Muslim leaders for their ongoing support and encouraged them to continue praying for his government

“I’m not yet a lame duck. Please leave my billboard at Isale Alfa.

“In January 2026, we know that political activities will start. I will tell you the picture of the person that will be installed there,” Makinde said.

The governor also encouraged Muslims to use the Ramadan season to promote peace and unity in society, regardless of religious differences.
