Governor Seyi Makinde has confirmed the killing of a secondary school teacher abducted alongside several other victims in Oyo State, describing the incident as tragic and unacceptable while assuring residents that efforts are ongoing to rescue those still in captivity. The governor made the disclosure amid rising public concern over worsening insecurity and cases of kidnapping across parts of the state. According to available reports, the victims were reportedly abducted by armed men while travelling through a rural area in Oyo State. Sources said the attackers intercepted the vehicle conveying the victims before taking them into nearby forests. Among those kidnapped was a teacher whose death was later confirmed after the abductors allegedly shot the victim during captivity.
