Adedoyin Urges Secondary Student To Remain Positive On Life After School

The Permanent Board Member, Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (Lagos Subeb) Dr. Abiodun Olanrewaju Adedoyin has tasked the students in Lagos State to be positive, focus and inspired on there future ambitions.

Adedoyin provided guidance at the 11th annual Future Matters Concept (FMC) developmental program for out-of-school youth and secondary school students in the state.

She admonished the pupils to concentrate on their studies and avoid any type of diversion from outside influences, whether local or global.

She asserts that education transcends the confines of the classroom and that without it, nothing will happen to you.

So, you need to be positive and focus on your studies so as to achieve your goals and future purposes,” she said.

Barr Jide Ologun, Former Chairman, Nigeria Institute of Public Relations, Lagos Chapter (Lagos NIPR), one of the Guest Speakers also enlightened the students on possible ways of achieving future ambitions during and after their schooling.

In his analysis, Ologun gave students six options for how their future aspirations might come true.

Focus, understanding, time, uniqueness, responsibility, and enthusiasm, in his opinion, are the essential components that any student must possess in order to succeed in life.

The lawyer went on to say that in order for a student to succeed, he or she must be goal-oriented in their studies and truly comprehend their objectives.

Any student who wants to be outstanding must adopt these six strategies for a better future: focus, time management skills, responsibility, originality, and excitement.

These are factors which students can leverage on to be successful in any any choosing careers.

Focusing nobody can be successful and without having real understanding about yourself your environments you can’t go far, you have to no yourself your abilities.

Students ought to know how to manage their time, don’t waste your time on social media, and you have to be unique in your approach, responsible in all ways and be enthusiastic to be successful,” he said.

Ms Chineze Amanfo, Lead Public Relations, 9Mobile Nigeria in her remarks tasked the students to value their education more than any social media activities that they might have indulged themselves in.

“What you are passionate about determined where you are going in the future. No what you want to do and start training yourself about it now.

Also, the director, people, culture and Experience, TVC communication, Mrs. Kemi shonubi, reiterated on the need to focus on their academic pursuit and stay away from social media.

Mr Wale Adeleye, the convener of the programme in his remarks thanked me guests for their impressive interest in the affairs of the young people.

Adeleye said that the present edition has speak volume of how God could personally inspire vision and sustain it since 2012.

“We started with few participants who up till date still share testimony of how the programme had impacted them greatly same feedback from previous editions.

“This year edition themed “Beyond Secondary Education What Next?” is a concept aimed at inspiring excellent attitude towards academic pursuit.

“It also provide adequate information on career choices, leadership and entrepreneurship, digital skills as well as addressing issues of substance abuse/sexual reproductive health and vices among the youth,” he said.

The event also marked the commencement of The Ambassadors Foundation.
