The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), has arrested Omoyele Sowore, the 2019 and 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, (ACC) at the Lagos Airport following his return to Nigeria.
Sowore is also the Convener of RevolutionNow.
He was arrested Sunday morning at Murtala Muhammad International Airport in Ikeja, Lagos State.
His flight left Washington Dulles International Airport at 6.14 EDT and arrived in Lagos at around 9.43 WAT.
The development comes after it was learnt in early September that the DSS had instructed airport security and immigration authorities to intercept and detain Sowore.
The directive to arrest Sowore was was reported to be issued by the newly appointed DSS Director-General, Adeola Ajayi, due to his prominent role in the recent 10-day #EndBadGovernance protests.
