Interim National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, Senator David Mark, has said that the new coalition has not picked anyone as its presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 elections.
He recently had his say amid reports that Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi and Rotimi Amaechi are the frontrunners for the party’s ticket.
Speaking via a press statement released by his media team in Abuja, Mark insisted that all party members are equal stakeholders.
According to him, Nigerians should rest assured that the coalition party would maintain total transparency under his leadership.
Declaring that ADC is needed to prevent Nigeria from sinking, he stated that the current aim is to establish a political party that would be attractive and acceptable to Nigerians.
“The ADC has no preferred or favourite presidential aspirant but has set out to first put out a platform that would be attractive and acceptable to majority of Nigerians.
We are doing this because we do not want this great ship called Nigeria to sink because if we do not rise up, and now, they will sink all of us,” he said.
David Mark further noted that every member of the coalition party must prove to the citizens that the recently formed political gathering is different from what they have been used to.
He concluded by saying that Nigerians need to come together to take ownership of the ADC.
“I don’t own this party more than any of our members and I urge all members to prepare to show Nigerians that ADC is a different party.
A different party that is ready to properly run democracy in our country. All Nigerians must come together and take ownership of the ADC,” he added.
