The latest report from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) provides detailed insights into the market share of mobile phone generations across Nigeria’s telecommunications landscape.
According to the data extracted from the NCC website, 2G technology remains the dominant force, accounting for 57.55% of subscribers. Despite a slight decline from January’s record of 57.78%, 2G maintains its significant presence in the market. Conversely, 3G technology experienced a decrease, dropping to 9.17% from its previous 9.36%, indicating a shifting preference among users.
Meanwhile, 4G technology solidified its position, anchoring at 32.11% compared to the earlier 31.75%. The emerging 5G technology, though still in its infancy, displayed promising growth, rising to 1.18% from its previous 1.11% share recorded in January.
