Oba Ogunjobi Suspended Over Social Media Misconduct

The Ogun State Government, led by Prince Dapo Abiodun, has suspended Oba Abdulsemiu Adewale Ogunjobi, the Olorile of Orile-Ifo, for six months due to his uncivil conduct. This decision was made to protect the dignity of individuals and the sanctity of traditional institutions.

The suspension follows an investigation into the Oba’s behavior, which was deemed unbecoming of his status.

The Oba and his victim were invited for questioning by the Honourable Commissioner of the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs. The Oba’s reckless utterances and public misconduct, which were widely shared on social media, prompted the investigation.

The Ogun State Government’s action highlights the importance of maintaining dignity and respect in public office, especially for traditional leaders. The suspension will last for six months, during which further investigation will be conducted.
