Ondo’s Oldest Monarch Passes Away At 102 After 48-Year Reign

Oldest monarch in Ondo State, the Owa of Idanre, Oba Fredrick Adegunle Aroloye, Arubiefin IV, has died. He ruled for 48 years.

He joined his ancestors at the age of 102.

The late Oba Aroloye was the 26th Owa of Idanre land. He was crowned in September 1976 after the death of his father, Oba Aladegbule Aroloye Arubiefin III.

High Chief Christopher Oluwole Akindolire, the Lisa of Idanre land, confirmed the death of Oba Aroloye.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, described the death of Oba Aroloye as a loss to Idanre community, Ondo State and Yoruba land.
