The Wamufat Youth Community Development Foundation (WYCDF) is preparing to launch an ambitious seven-day Youth Sports Clinic in Joga-Orile, near Abeokuta, Ogun State, from August 10 to 16, as part of its ongoing commitment to engaging and empowering young people across Nigeria.
The transformative initiative, conducted in partnership with the Nigeria School Sport Federation, will take place at the Agroterra Sports Academy and targets youth aged 10-17, with separate programs designed for both boys and girls.
According to a statement released by the foundation, the clinic represents more than just athletic training. The program is designed as a comprehensive youth development initiative that will equip participants through structured sports activities, mentorship, and personal development sessions.
“This is not just about football or physical fitness, it’s about building confidence, character, and community,” said a spokesperson for the foundation, emphasising the holistic approach to youth empowerment.
Comprehensive Program Structure
The week-long clinic will feature a diverse range of activities, including sports drills, mentoring sessions, wellness education, and leadership development workshops. Participants will engage in daily athletics training alongside motivational sessions and values-based coaching designed to instil discipline, teamwork, and wellness principles.
The program’s focus on grassroots impact reflects WYCDF’s broader mission to leverage sports as a powerful tool for positive change, particularly in underserved communities. Throughout the week, experienced coaches, facilitators, and volunteers will work closely with participants to develop both athletic skills and life skills.
Key components of the clinic include:
Daily sports training and drills
Mentorship and personal development sessions
Wellness and health education
Leadership development workshops
Character-building activities
Community engagement initiatives
The initiative has already garnered significant attention from local leaders and members of the Nigerian diaspora, who view the clinic as an exemplary model for sustainable youth development both within Nigeria and internationally.
The partnership with the Nigerian School Sports Federation adds institutional credibility to the program and demonstrates WYCDF’s commitment to working within established educational and sporting frameworks to maximise impact.
Interested participants and parents can obtain more information about the clinic by visiting the foundation’s website at www.wycdf.org or by calling +1 310-929-8869.
The foundation encourages early registration as spaces are limited and demand is expected to be high for this inaugural sports clinic in Ogun State.
The WYCDF Youth Sports Clinic represents a significant investment in Nigeria’s youth development landscape, offering young people in Ogun State and surrounding areas an opportunity to develop both athletic abilities and essential life skills in a supportive, structured environment.
As the August dates approach, the foundation continues to finalise preparations for what promises to be a landmark event in community-based youth development through sports.
