President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and Senator Adedayo Adeyeye as Chairman of the NPA Board.
A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, highlights the President’s expectation that the appointees will demonstrate excellence in their roles, thereby ensuring efficient port services and improved industry outcomes.
Dr. Dantsoho holds a Doctorate in Maritime Technology from Liverpool John Moores University, UK, and a Master’s in International Transport from Cardiff University of Wales, UK. He has served in various capacities within the NPA, including Assistant General Manager, Technical Assistant to the Managing Director, Port Manager of Onne Port, and Principal Manager of Tariff and Billing.
Senator Adeyeye, the new Board Chairman, is a seasoned lawyer, journalist, and politician. He is a former Minister of State for Works and a former Senator representing Ekiti South Senatorial District.
