Police operatives from the Lagos State Command have arrested a 22-year old man, identied as Chibuzor Obinna, who took a young lady to a popular hotel for sex romp, allegedly murdered her and escaped.
The incident happened at Crown Inn Hotel, Badore area of Lagos.
According to the management of the hotel, the suspect who is now in Police custody undergoing interrogation, took the victim to lodge at the hotel for the romp.
It was gathered that the victim died and the suspect, Obinna, secretly left the hotel room that night without informing the management about what happened and escaped
However, in the morning when the management went for routine monitoring and discovered that the victim was dead and the suspect had escaped without informing the management, the matter was reported to the Police at Lagbasa Division.
The DPO, CSP Adetukunbo Aboniwonda, moved into action and the suspect was eventually tracked to his hideout at Ozumba Mbadiwe Road in Victoria Island.
This was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who disclosed that the suspect has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department at Yaba for further investigation over the alleged murder.
What transpired between the suspect and victim, which led to her death was not yet known because the Police were still investigating the matter.
But what gave suspicion that the suspect may have murdered her before he ran away was because he did not even inform the hotel management about what happened or report to the Police.
The suspect may likely face murder charge but that will be after the conclusion of the investigations by the Police.
