Prominent lawmaker, Ayo Da-Silva, has officially pitched his tent with the All Progressives Congress (APC), marking a significant political shift in Amuwo Odofin, Lagos State.
The political alignment ceremony, which held within his constituency, attracted a large crowd of supporters, party loyalists, and key stakeholders in the ruling party, underscoring the political weight of his move.
Addressing the mammoth gathering, Da-Silva explained that his decision to join the APC was informed by his desire to align with a platform better positioned to allow him actualize his aspirations to serve his constituents. He reaffirmed his commitment to effective representation, promising that the new political alignment would translate into improved infrastructure, empowerment programmes, and broader opportunities for the people.
The event was graced by notable dignitaries, including media entrepreneur and publisher, Ayo Sogbuyi, former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Olatunde Obanikoro and the Chairman of Amuwo-Odofin Local Government, Lanre Sanusi. Their presence highlighted the growing political influence of Da-Silva in the constituency.
Also in attendance were leaders of the Igbo and Hausa communitit’s in the area, alongside other well-wishers and grassroots supporters, reflecting the diverse backing the lawmaker enjoys across different groups within the constituency.
APC leaders who received Da-Silva into the party described his decision to join the ruling party as a major boost, noting that his grassroots influence and political experience would further strengthen the party’s structure in the constituency.
The atmosphere at the event was lively, with chants, solidarity messages, and declarations of support from attendees, many of whom pledged their continued loyalty to the lawmaker under his new political platform.
