U.S. President Donald Trump has said that Israel has already agreed to the necessary conditions to finalise a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza. He recently made the announcement via a post on Truth Social, and the world has been reacting.
According to him, during the proposed ceasefire, the United States of America would “work with all parties to end the war.”
Despite not providing details on what the ceasefire would entail, Trump revealed that the Qataris and Egyptians deserve praise for doing everything possible to aid the peace in the region.
Trump stated that he is hoping Hamas accepts the deal because things will not get better from this point.
“The Qataris and Egyptians, who have worked very hard to help bring Peace, will deliver this final proposal. I hope… that Hamas takes this Deal, because it will not get better — IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE,” he wrote.
Israel is yet to confirm any agreement to the conditions of a deal, but a Hamas official has since come out to say that the group is ready to reach an agreement as long as it ends the war.
The official, Taher al-Nunu, maintained that Hamas will reach an agreement with any deal that clearly states the requirements for ending the war once and for all.
“Hamas is prepared to agree to any proposal if the requirements for ending the war are clearly met or if they lead to its complete end,” he said.
Israel’s foreign minister, Gideon Sa’ar, concluded by saying that there is a majority support in the government for a framework to release hostages, and this golden opportunity must be seized.
