They Gave You Promises, We Gave You Projects — PDP Is the Only Choice

As the Remo Federal Constituency prepares for the forthcoming bye election on August 16, one truth must be made clear: this is not just a contest between political parties, it is a decision about the kind of leadership Remo people deserve.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) enters this election with a proud record and an unwavering commitment to people centered governance. Unlike the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), led in Ogun State by Governor Dapo Abiodun, the PDP has a proven legacy of real development, tangible projects, and grassroots progress, especially in Remoland.
The bye election follows the unfortunate passing of Hon. Ijaya Onanuga, the former House of Representatives member. While we honor her service, it is important to look ahead to what is best for Remo’s future.

The APC has presented Princess Elegbeji as its flag bearer, but Remo people know that a name alone is not enough. Leadership must be backed by competence, capacity, and connection to the community.
What did PDP do when it held power in Ogun State? A lot, especially in Remoland.
Under the administration of Otunba Gbenga Daniel, the PDP government delivered projects that transformed the region and impacted thousands of lives:
Gateway ICT Polytechnic, Saapade: This institution unlocked the area’s economic potential, attracting students from across the state and giving locals new income through housing, trade, and services.
NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Sagamu: This brought a steady flow of visitors and federal presence to Remoland, creating new opportunities for local businesses.
Sagamu International Stadium: Built to engage youth, promote wellness, and place Remo on the national sporting map, this stadium is a gift to generations.
Relocation of Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital to Sagamu: A bold move that brought quality healthcare closer to the people and turned Sagamu into a regional health centre.
These are not promises. These are facts. Projects that exist. Benefits that communities still enjoy today.

Political Observers have now asked the question in contrast to what APC’s track records are in Remo. What major development project has Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration delivered to Remoland?
The truth is, there are none to point to that could be regarded as landmark project but an acclaimed white elephant projects. While the APC talks, PDP builds. While the APC campaigns on vague promises, the PDP reminds the people of schools, hospitals, and stadiums that stand tall as proof of its commitment.
Princess Elegbeji may fly the APC flag, but Remo people must ask: what has the APC truly done for us? Can she be a principal officer in the House of Representatives without a track record of political experience or national influence?

The late Hon. Ijaya Onanuga was respected, but even she struggled to push development in Remo under an APC federal and state government.
This is why the PDP candidate Hon. Bola Oluwole, supported by Hon. Ladi Adebutu (Lado), brings unmatched value. Lado’s strong network in the National Assembly and Abuja will open doors. His political weight and development vision will ensure Remo is not left behind.
On election day, the choice is clear. The PDP logo is the symbol of progress.
Let every voter, especially in the rural areas, be educated: your thumbprint on the PDP logo is your voice for better roads, schools, employment, and healthcare. The momentum is already in our favor, but we must remain vigilant. This election must reflect the will of the people, free, fair, and protected from any attempt at rigging.
