It was a week of another level of experience for the students as Buruj Football Academy launched the study and play initiatives for the 2024/2025 Academic session.
The Study and Play Initiative is a flexible curriculum, which allows the students of the academy to have a seamless combination of academics and football training sessions.
The initiative allows for an around and complete graduate, where the very talented players can continue their pursuit of a career in football without jettisoning their education.
It also breeds a complete physical and mental development for those that want to pursue a career out of football.
After a week of intensive training on the basis of the football and rigorous academic lectures in the various classes, some of the students share their experience of the programme, which allows them to express their love and passion while also facing their studies without interference.
Bethel Ezekiel, a JSS 2 student of the academy, said he is happy and can now play the game he loves and also face his studies.
“I love the programmes. It affords me the opportunity to play football and still study my books and I am very happy about the development” Bethel said.
For Paul Bonu, it was a dream come true. “I love the gym session and the football training side by side my studies. It is a dream come true as my search before we could get to Buruj Football Academy, which answers our yearning for an academy that combines football and academics” Paul said.
As far as Fawaz Olukosi, learning is now indeed fun.
“I am enjoying every bit of the initiatives and always look forward to the day’s activity. It’s fun combining my studies with my game” he said.
The Study and Play Initiative is open to all JSS 1- SS 3 students up to Tertiary level.
The programme is also open to those seeking admission into higher school of learning as registration is still ongoing in all classes and they can take advantage of the academy’s programmes for the new season.
The academy will be part of the 2025 Variaggio Cup in Europe, climaxing the Study and Play Initiative for the academy students and players in the session.
