“I WAS THE VICTIM, NOT THE PERPETRATOR” – OBA ADEKEYE DENIES FRAUD ALLEGATIONS, REVEALS SCHEME OF ESTRANGED LOVER

In an exclusive interview with AKNN News, Oba Adekeye Adeyemi Olanrewaju, the Abepa of Joga Orile, Yewa North, Ogun State, has vehemently denied allegations of fraud leveled against him by his estranged lover, UK-based Nigerian woman Bunmi Christianah Oyewole.

The visibly shaken monarch expressed shock at what he described as “brazen and blatant lies” told by Oyewole to malign his status and reputation.

“I genuinely loved Bunmi, and when I met her, she claimed she was a divorcee,” the traditional ruler stated. “I later discovered this was entirely false. She was still legally married to Adeniyi Lawal, a UK-based medical worker who was embroiled in a rape case that Bunmi herself had initiated against him.”

According to Oba Adekeye, the reality of their relationship was far different from Oyewole’s portrayal. “Contrary to her claims of being defrauded, Bunmi’s lifestyle was allegedly funded by unpaid loans and mounting debts. She relied on Universal Credit, a UK government welfare program for low-income individuals, while boasting of spending millions on me,” he revealed.

The monarch challenged Oyewole to provide concrete evidence of the alleged purchases she claims to have made for him. “Without proof, her accusations remain dubious and appear to be part of a deeper agenda to tarnish my reputation,” he said.

Oba Adekeye further explained that their relationship began to deteriorate when his estranged wife, Olori Olanike Ayinke Adekeye, was set to return to the palace. “Bunmi refused to share my affections and demanded that Olori Olanike be barred from returning. When I refused, citing traditional hierarchy, Bunmi resorted to blackmail, attempting to secure a more prominent position in the palace,” he stated.

The traditional ruler also revealed that Oyewole made unreasonable demands, including requesting that Olori Olanike beg her to accept a junior wife position. “These demands were rejected, leading to the eventual collapse of our marriage. Her refusal to adhere to royal traditions and her obsession with status and wealth ultimately sealed her fate,” he added.

Oba Adekeye pointed to Oyewole’s troubled relationship history as evidence of a pattern of behavior. “Her first marriage to Steve Fowowe lasted 12 years before ending in 2016. Barely five months later, she married Adeniyi Lawal, only to accuse him of rape, leading to his imprisonment in the UK,” he noted.

The monarch emphasized that Oyewole’s marriages have been marked by financial exploitation, with her first husband allegedly losing an entire house to her and her second husband parting with three luxury cars.

“These patterns of manipulation and greed have followed her into our relationship,” Oba Adekeye concluded. “I am the victim here, not the perpetrator, and I trust that the truth will prevail as investigations proceed.”

The palace has indicated that the traditional ruler will fully cooperate with all relevant authorities to clear his name of these allegations.
