The Executive Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Jelili Sulaimon, flagged off project commissioning on Wednesday, 17th July 2024. The event began with the official opening of the Alhaji Musbaudeen Alani Olaleye Ultra-modern Market by Pako bus-stop, Akowonjo.
Following the market opening, Azeez Ayorinde Street in Alimosho was also officially opened for use. This significant project, executed by the current administration, aims to alleviate the long-standing challenges faced by the residents of the area.
This latest commissioning is part of a series of projects completed by the administration for various purposes.
During the market opening ceremony, the Alaye of Orisumbare Land, Oba Akibu Adebowale, praised the Council Chairman, describing him as an achiever who persistently pursues laudable goals.
Echoing this sentiment, the Elegbeda of Egbeda Land commended the Council Chairman for the substantial progress made within a short period and expressed confidence that he would accomplish even more before the end of his administration.
Since the administration began in 2021, Hon. Jelili Sulaimon has completed a 2-storey administrative building, furnishing and equipping it for use. He has also constructed more than five key roads, including Odebummi Street at Miccom, Santos Layout, Banire Street, and Adebanjo Street, as well as constructed necessary drainages. While some of these roads have been completed, others, numbering about five, are still under construction.
In addition, Hon. Jelili has built an ultra-modern health centre in Akowonjo and another at Olorungbebe Area (Ologufe), complementing similar projects from his first term.
The administration has also provided numerous office and learning support equipment for primary schools in the local government area and spent millions of naira on monetary and material palliatives.
