Bayero University Kano (BUK) has confirmed the passing of Hajiya Hadiza Attahiru Jega, wife of former Vice-Chancellor and ex-Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Attahiru Jega.
In a statement shared on its official social media platform on Sunday, the university announced her death, though no cause was disclosed. It extended heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones.
BUK also stated that her Janazah prayer would be held shortly after the Zuhr prayer at the National Mosque Abuja on Sunday, April 5, 2026.
The institution prayed for Allah’s mercy upon the deceased, asking that her shortcomings be forgiven and that she be granted Aljannah Firdaus.
