According to the police, 13 of the suspects were arrested during a raid of some dark spots in the Ikotun area of the state while one of the suspects, Muhammed Yaro, was arrested while trying to cause unrest in the Mushin area of the state.

The statement read in part, “Around 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 8, RRS operatives responding to a violent crisis in Idi Araba, Mushin arrested Muhammed Yaro (25), while wielding a machete and hammer as others fled the scene on sighting the police.

“The same day, at about 11:00 pm, our operatives combing suspected flashpoints in Dopemu, Egbeda, Idimu, Council Roundabout, Ikotun, and environs, arrested 31 suspects.

“Eighteen of the suspects were released to their relatives after a thorough screening was carried out by the Commander of the squad, CSP Yinka Egbeyemi.”

The statement further stated that the suspects would be charged in court as soon as the investigation was concluded.
