The media group of the All Progressives Congress in Akwa Ibom State has blasted the African Democratic Congress for saying that the just-concluded by-election outcomes were manipulated.
He recently revealed that ADC made the claim to deflect attention from its own failures.
In the by-election results released on Sunday, APC secured victories in 12 constituencies, while APGA won 2 constituencies, and PDP and NNPP each secured 2 constituencies.
Reacting via a press statement, the Director General, Media Network, Otuekong John, said that the electoral outcomes is a true reflection of the strength and popularity of the APC across the country.
According to him, the APC’s electoral successes prove the quality leadership provided by President Bola Tinubu and his commitment to the equitable development of Nigeria.
He stated that the ADC coalition party is nothing more than a gathering that lacks the capacity to mount a credible challenge to the APC’s dominance.
“The APC’s success is attributed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership and commitment to equitable development and good governance. The party’s leadership and dedication to democratic principles have earned the trust of Nigerians.
We reject the ADC’s allegations of electoral manipulation by INEC. These claims are an attempt to deflect attention from their own failures. Nigerians have consistently shown trust in the APC, and this trend is unlikely to change.
The by-election outcomes serve as a precursor to the 2027 presidential election, indicating the APC’s popularity and President Tinubu’s leadership will likely be reaffirmed.
Given the APC’s strong track record and the opposition’s lackluster performance, it’s evident that the ADC coalition is nothing more than paper tigers with no electoral strength, lacking the capacity to mount a credible challenge to the APC’s dominance,” he said.
He further urged Nigerians to support President Tinubu’s vision for a united, prosperous, and progressive Nigeria.
John concluded by saying that the APC will maintain its unwavering commitment to delivering transformative governance and guaranteeing a brighter future.
“In light of the APC’s momentum and the opposition’s weaknesses, we advise ADC coalition politicians to reassess their strategies and prepare for a negative outcome in the 2027 election. Rather than
engaging in futile attempts to challenge the APC, they should focus on developing substantive policy proposals that address the needs of Nigerians. Negative campaigning and unfounded claims will not suffice; Nigerians deserve more,” he added.
