Notably, during the widespread internet disruptions in March this year, caused by cuts to other submarine cables in Nigeria and West Africa, Glo 1 remained unaffected and continued to operate normally with financial institutions, internet service providers, and data consumers powered by Glo 1 all running without hitch. This resilience, according to industry experts is due to the facility’s robust construction and durability.
To further enhance its capabilities, Globacom has upgraded the Glo 1 submarine fiber cable infrastructure, maximizing its utilization and service delivery.
Glo 1 boasts of direct connection to London with the lowest latency, guaranteeing ultra-fast and reliable internet connectivity. This upgrade complements Globacom’s ongoing network expansions and upgrades, ensuring a unique calling and browsing experience for its customers.
