I Can’t Make Manchester City Win Single-Handedly – Rodri

Manchester City midfielder Rodri has come out to say that he cannot single-handedly make the club win matches.

He recently revealed that he is not Lionel Messi, and fans have been reacting.

Speaking to the press, after being out for a very long time, it is unfair for anyone to expect him to come back straight in and transform the team’s results.

According to him, he needs time to get up to speed after his lengthy hiatus from football, and he hopes Manchester City will be better after the international break.

He stated that football is a collective sport, and his presence will not lead to a magical transformation like many expect.

“I’m not Messi. I’m not going to come back and make the team win and win.

This is a collective; when we won in the past, I needed all my teammates.

For sure I have to recover and find my best level. It’s not because I’m back we’re going to win. It’s a collective sport. Hopefully after the break we can come back much better,” he said.

Rodri further noted that the team is currently making schoolboy errors that are easily avoidable.

He concluded by saying that Manchester City players must step up to compete in the forthcoming matches.

“Some of the mistakes we are doing are kids’ mistakes, you are not concentrating and paying attention.

The reality is that we have to raise the level if we want to compete.

It’s a matter of the team, changes, new players have to adapt, and when you change the team that much, it is difficult. This is our reality, it’s not excuses,” he added.
